The majestic and historic Mirwart Castle shines again in the Ardennes

After more than 40 years of neglect, Mirwart Castle is once again shining. In 2016, the owner of the site embarked on a major project: to give this fortified building a total restoration. The goal was achieved: the building was restored to its former glory in the summer of 2021. The castle has undergone a major transformation to become a luxury hotel. Simply called Mirwart Castle, the hotel has a gourmet restaurant and function rooms. An exceptional project undertaken by the Brussels architectural firm Jaspers-Eyers. The furniture – from Molteni – was designed by the eminent interior architect and designer Vincent Van Duysen. The various rooms are decorated with the sumptuous linens of Verilin, a company based in Flanders. The castle exudes a typical atmosphere. The architects have taken care to respect the heritage of the building while blending a contemporary design that is harmoniously integrated into the environment.

Located in the forest of Saint-Hubert, the present building dates from the beginning of the 18th century. But its origins go back to the 6th century. It dominates the entire village of Mirwart, and today welcomes many visitors for a rejuvenating stay nestled in the heart of nature. The hotel will soon house a comfortable wellness centre with a spa.

Château de Vignée, a luxurious Ardennes experience in a natural setting

Designed to pamper its guests, the Château de Vignée hotel, a former boutique hotel, is the ideal refuge for a well-deserved rest after a day of adventure in the Ardennes hills. This 17th century residence, nestled in the wooded Lesse valley, embodies a warm country spirit. The Antwerp design studio WeWantMore was responsible for the interior design. The designers respected the existing structures of the building while adding a sober and natural contemporary touch that echoes the Ardennes landscape. Marie’s Corner is responsible for the decoration of the hotel and its gastronomic restaurant, run by Belgian chef Kwinten Boelen.

This building, consisting of a manor house and its farmhouse, is part of the internationally renowned Relais & Châteaux association. Visitors have access to a spa with various Caudalie treatment rituals, an indoor swimming pool in osmosis with the surrounding nature, a hammam, a Finnish sauna and ice pools. A wellness getaway in a prestigious green setting.

Château Wallerand, a contemporary and exceptional relay and spa in Belgium

Wallerand Castle, built in 1714, has been in Wallonia for more than three centuries and welcomes travellers throughout the year in an exceptional setting. This building, located on the French border, combines the charms of a historical and contemporary building. In the classic Mosan style, certain period details have been preserved and combined with a more modern decoration. It retains its old Ardennes lustre while offering cosy comfort and premium facilities. A design in harmony with the original building.

The owner of the Château de Wallerand hotel, a Belgian businessman, has transformed this historic building into a top-of-the-range spa. Guests enjoy rooms and suites, decorated by the Italian architect Francesca Albani, with a breathtaking view of the Meuse River and the park. In the gourmet restaurant and spa, luxury and peace reign supreme; voluptuous moments that excite the senses.

The elegant and discreet Manoir de Lébioles, for a relaxing stay in Spa

Nicknamed the “little Versailles” of the Ardennes, the Manoir de Lébioles is housed in a large residence dating from 1905. After transformation and modernisation work, this castle has regained its splendour and has become one of the most beautiful jewels in the architectural heritage of the town of Spa in the Walloon Region. The architects were able to preserve the soul of the manor house, in the style of the Mosan Renaissance, while bringing in a breath of fresh air and modernity.

The adage “To be rather than to appear” is the philosophy of the Manoir de Lébioles. The house offers its guests a first class stay in a green and discreet environment. Spacious suites with character, a gourmet restaurant, a wellness centre designed according to the four elements, and landscaped gardens laid out in a French style… These facilities have created a haven of peace and seclusion.

The unusual Ronchinne estate and its castle hotel in the heart of the Belgian Ardennes

To disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with others or to offer yourself a break from the daily grind, there is the Ronchinne estate, consisting of a castle and its stables, a gardener’s house and a magnificent green park. At the gateway to the Ardennes, in the Condroz region of Namur, famous for its hiking trails, this castle, built at the end of the 19th century, welcomes its guests in a family atmosphere that is also original. The Belgian architects Olivia Gustot and Lionel Jadot have given the design and decoration of the place a contemporary and crazy touch, while respecting the historical spirit of the site.

The types of accommodation at the Domaine-a member of the Belgian group Limited Edition Hotels-are varied and unusual: it is possible to fall asleep under the stars in the heart of a rhododendron forest, in the pheasantry of the orchard, in a perched hut, a futuristic cube, a hut or even in the attic where the carillon mechanism is housed. At the Lavoir, a magnificent open-air wellness area plunges guests into an ocean of zenitude, for a singular experience of voluptuousness.
