Marie Akaneya

This intimate restaurant is today the only one in Europe offering its guests the exceptional Matsusaka beef, a Japanese beef of unparalleled quality, sourced directly from the legendary Ito Ranch. Here, dining becomes a ritual, a suspended moment in a setting inspired by the traditional elegance of Kyoto.

A sensory immersion into the world of wagyū

Located in Paris’s 3rd arrondissement, just steps from Temple metro station, Marie Akaneya offers more than just a meal: it is an invitation to the most refined culinary journey Japan has to offer. The simple and minimalist decor combines light wood, shoji screens, and dimmed lighting to recreate the wabi-sabi atmosphere of a Kyoto tea house.

From the moment you enter, it’s clear that every detail matters. Here, service is private: each table has its own sumibiyaki, a Japanese charcoal grill, on which guests grill their wagyū pieces themselves, cut with surgical precision.

Among the varieties offered: the famous Kobe beef, the more exclusive Ōmi, but especially the A5 Matsusaka beef, considered one of the best meats in the world. Raised exclusively in Mie Prefecture, these cattle are carefully fed, massaged, and even listen to classical music. The result? Meat with impressive marbling, tender and incredibly delicate, with buttery and hazelnut notes.

An exceptional end to the meal: the crown of Japanese fruits

The Marie Akaneya experience concludes with a rare fruit, a true symbol of refinement in Japan: the Crown Melon from Fukuroi. This fruit is cultivated with near-ceremonial precision in greenhouses dedicated to its harmonious growth. It is known for its perfect balance of sweetness, fragrance, and texture.
Tasting this melon extends the elegance of the meal with a touch of crystalline freshness. A poetic way to leave the table, between purity and softness, like a tasteful haiku.

An art of hospitality imbued with omotenashi

At Marie Akaneya, every meal becomes a suspended moment where time gracefully stretches. Here, haste is forgotten in order to focus on the essentials: slow cooking, full savoring, respecting the nobility of each ingredient. This approach to dining, steeped in serenity, celebrates the art of the gesture and the beauty of simplicity.

It is also an immersion in omotenashi, the subtle Japanese hospitality where attention to the guest shows in the smallest details, with discretion and delicacy.

For lovers of Japanese culture and rare rituals, Marie Akaneya stands as a unique destination in Europe to experience the authentic Matsusaka beef in an exceptional setting.
