CAP D’ANTIBES
HÔTEL VILLA MIRAE
Oscar Lucien Ono is a conductor of interior decoration with a gift for generously showcasing the special techniques and craftsmanship that go into creating tailor-made designs for elite, high-end spaces. This is the case at Villa Miraé, a renovated hotel boasting 35 luxurious rooms decorated to subtly evoke the sea, the sun and gardens through a range of pastel shades, earthy ochres, pale blue and aqua green. A fresco by the Frioul mosaic workshop greets guests as they step into this former manor house with its Mediterranean architecture, formerly known as the Imperial Garoupe, guiding them on a sensory journey that artfully captures the sweet scent of flowers and sea spray.

Oscar Lucien Ono drew his inspiration from the Villa Santo Sospir in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, with its walls ‘tattooed’ by Jean Cocteau. For the frescoes at Villa Miraé, he called on the painter and decorator Antonin Lamotte. Provencal touches are unmistakeable on the furniture and carpets, teamed with ceramic wall lights and bedside lamps, and glazed terracotta creations by Paradis. Adjacent to the patio, the breakfast room has been designed around the theme of wild herbs, creating a botanical atmosphere. A marine backdrop has been chosen for the restaurant, with a mural depicting a wave and woven rope furniture in a fitting tribute to the nautical world.

The French Riviera’s new jewel, brilliantly reflecting the beauty of the landscape.

PARIS
MAISON CASSANDRE

Behind its Haussmann-style façade, this boutique hotel conceals a hybrid space reminiscent of a boudoir and a cabinet of curiosities, oozing refined elegance and offering a new take on traditional codes. Shimmering gold, geometric lines, symmetrical effects, herringbone parquet flooring, marquetry details, sparkling mosaics… a scent of the Roaring Twenties lingers in the air. The decorative paintings by artist Cédric Peltier echo the aesthetic of poster artist and illustrator Cassandre, creator of Yves Saint-Laurent’s YSL logo, and decorator and lacquerer Jean Dunand. Reissued by MCDE, the Mouche alabaster wall lights were designed by Pierre Chareau in 1924 and are a fine match for the Murano glass chandeliers. Highlighted by walnut and faux marble door frames, the Macassar ebony furniture and wild silk screens in the common areas are coordinated with vintage pieces and exotic details. Animal motifs and bird designs adorn the backs of the armchairs, while the carpets and curtains forge a connection with the neoclassical busts and statues.

A setting oozing Art Deco glamour and chic, with a cosy and intimate atmosphere.
